Verity Heard BSc MSc is a Senior Ecologist with over 5 years’ experience in the ecological consultancy industry. Prior to joining The Ecology Consultancy, Verity worked in both consultancy and research posts where she gained experience serving significant infrastructure projects for transport, property, water and renewable sectors, including, onshore cable routes for wind farms, rail (HS2, East West Rail), Ports (London Gateway), commercial and residential developments.
Her experience in each, has allowed her to understand the needs of a client and strongly develop her knowledge and application of EU and UK wildlife legislation, best practice guidelines, licence applications and mitigation procedures.
She has completed numerous ecological reports and developed her expertise in a range of ecological surveys and species identification during her time in consultancy. She holds a Natural England Bat Level 2 Class Licence and a Great Crested Newt Level 1 Survey Licence and is currently working towards her dormouse licence.
Verity will be responsible for project management and client liaison including, planning and leading surveys, attendance of meetings, budget and programme management and reviewing and producing reports.
