Toni is an ecologist with 7 years’ experience and expertise in surveying for a range of protected species including reptiles, great crested newts, badgers, bats and riparian mammals, in addition to developing and implementing mitigation measures. She also holds a dormouse licence, great crested newt licence and bat survey licences. Her experience includes undertaking and writing scoping surveys, Phase 1 habitat reports, as well as Natural England development licences and ecological management plans required for planning.
Toni started her career volunteering with various charities including The London Wildlife Trust, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of the London water vole project. This included water vole surveys, and mink monitoring and control. She also radio tracked water voles and assisted with their controlled release at the Barnes wetland centre in London and Belhus Woods Country Park in Averly.
In her current role as Principal Ecologist for The Ecology Consultancy Toni manages a team of ecologists and works to increase the profile of The Ecology Consultancy. She carries out and manages a range of protected species surveys and has extensive experience of large scale protected species mitigation projects, such as the M25 road widening scheme, where her work has focussed on water voles, great crested newts, reptiles, badgers and bats.
