Danny has worked as a full time consultant for over 10 years, previously with large multidisciplinary companies. He is an experienced ecologist whose expertise is in protected species ecology, particularly great crested newts, reptiles, water vole, otter, bats, dormice, badgers and birds. He holds licenses for great crested newt and dormice as well as a schedule 1 permit for barn owl, woodlark and Cetti’s warbler and has held a BTO bird ringing licence for over 20 years.
Danny’s particular specialism is in avian ecology and he routinely manages and undertakes a range of bird surveys for different projects. Previously he has volunteered and worked at bird observatories around the UK, Ireland and North America.
Danny has project managed major development schemes including housing developments, renewables projects and large infrastructure schemes. He has extensive experience producing reports for clients including Environmental Statements, Ecological Impact Assessment, Habitat Regulations Assessment, Collision Risk Modelling and Environmental Management Plans. Based at our East Anglia office, he manages a small team of ecologists as well as being responsible for marketing, health and safety and general office management.
Outside of the office Danny spends his spare time volunteering for the BTO through the ringing scheme and supervising the management of a few local wildlife sites around Norwich.
