Ecological Impact Assessment
The Ecology Consultancy’s well prepared Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) can increase the chances of getting planning permission for a project. We conduct the baseline surveys and work closely with the client and design team to undertake a careful analysis of the likely impacts of a proposal on wildlife resources. We then work with them to devise the appropriate mitigation. Where necessary we take an active part in consultation and engagement with various stakeholders including statutory agencies, local interest groups and interested members of the public. We also have extensive experience of preparing Ecology Chapters for EIAs, and detailed ecological analysis for Appropriate Assessments both at the project and strategic scales. Our services include:
- Identifying, quantifying and evaluating the potential impacts of defined actions on ecosystems or their components
- Providing a defensible approach to evaluation of ecological effects
- Providing advice on how project decision-making may be affected by significant ecological issues
- Designing and negotiating mitigation measures for any identified impacts
- Working with a variety of clients (including developers, planners, engineers and architects) to provide practical and innovative solutions to potential ecological impacts on development schemes
