Principal ecologist to lead course on ecology for landscapers

Friday, September 12th, 2014

Our Principal Ecologist, Dr Sarah Yarwood-Lovett, has been invited to teach the Ecology and Conservation module of the Landscape Architecture BA degree at the University of Greenwich.

The University was impressed with Sarah’s academic credentials, as well as her management of a London-based team of ecologists. She is committed to sharing knowledge, insights and experience and spear-headed The Ecology Consultancy: The Professional Series, now coming to towards the end of its first year, to provide training for graduates and professional ecologists working in consultancy.

Sarah will be teaching second year undergraduate students and post-graduate conversion students who are in the first year of their landscape training, during the coming autumn term.

She will be teaching at their new university building, on Stockwell Street, which has 14 green roofs and been awarded a BREEAM Innovation credit for teaching and research.

Sarah says, “I’m delighted to have been asked to teach on this course. I’ll be drawing on my practical experience of working in the industry with a wide variety of project teams to make the sessions relevant, and I’m really looking forward to initiating some interesting discussions of ideas.”
