An intense day of training for professional ecologists was organised by The Ecology Consultancy and hosted by its owners Temple Group at their St. Katherine Dock offices in central London.
Many of our own staff, attended the session and benefited from up-to-date advice and evidence from leading environmental lawyer Penny Simpson, from Freeth Cartwright, whose specialism is legislation for European Protected Species (EPS)
Evidence from case-law and the practical implications of making decisions in the field were discussed, as well as the different licence classes and when each might be required. Penny also covered useful material on working with Local Authorities and other public bodies on European Protected Species and planning. She then gave practical tips on speeding up the EPS licence process, which will benefit both consultant ecologists and clients.
