| Towcester ValeClient: URS Date started: June 2006
ECL was commissioned by engineering consultancy URS to contribute to the environmental impact assessment for a major site at Towcester Vale. The construction project includes a new bypass connecting the A5 to the A43, and is part of a major residential and business development in the area. Part of our remit was to provide the ecology chapter for the Environmental Statement and to prepare detailed mitigation strategies for any protected species that we found. We conducted comprehensive surveys to establish the ecological baseline for the site, including vegetation and habitat surveys and covering the full range of likely protected species. The planning application has now been submitted.
