East Lindsey District Council and North Kesteven District Council
Objective: Review of Local Wildlife SitesAs part of the review in East Lindsey, The Ecology Consultancy was also required to carry out a desk study to identify new potential wildlife sites across the district resulting in 77 additional sites being surveyed.
We recorded many interesting species and habitats during the surveys including ancient woodland, heathland, species-rich grassland and aquatic habitats which were then evaluated against Local Wildlife Site selection criteria.
So far more than half of the sites surveyed have met one or more of the Local Wildlife Site selection criteria and have been put forward for consideration by the Local Wildlife Sites Panel. We attended Local Wildlife Sites Panel meetings and our reports will form part of the evidence base for the Local Development Frameworks for North Kesteven and East Lindsey District Councils.
The Ecology Consultancy was engaged in a mammal study of the open spaces of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in 2010.
