Blackbirds in the Mews!

Thursday, April 24th, 2014

Our offices at London Bridge are bustling with activity so it might surprise you to know that birds nest in this fairly inhospitable area, year after year.

George was taken by surprise in our Mews this morning when a female blackbird emerged from an ornamental potted Rhaphiolepis indica ‘Ballerina’ and revealed she was feeding her young in their nest. Nicely caught George!

The bird clearly managed to find something for her young to eat – you can just spot her high up on the lower bar, moments before she swooped past a delivery man to feed the chicks again, literally right under his nose.
