Sydenham Hill Wood

Client: London Wildlife Trust

Date started/completed: 2006 - 2009

ECL has been working in partnership with the London Wildlife Trust in Sydenham Hill Wood, South London to research the activity levels of bats on the site.

This work would not have been possible without the support of local London Wildlife Trust volunteers. They completed 4 days training both in the classroom and the woods learning from ECL bat experts while participating in night-time bat activity surveys.

This training was in line with the London Biodiversity Action Plan aims to increase public awareness of and involvement in bat conservation. We hope that with our hands-on approach we are giving people a new insight into how wildlife in London exists, and will contribute to the overall knowledge of bats in London.
