- Undertaking ecological watching briefs and Clerk of Works roles for contractors.

- Research on wildlife issues.
- Expert witness role at Public Inquiries.
What will the Senior Ecologist do?
We currently require two Senior Ecologists at our London office — a botanist and a bat specialist, to join our busy team. Senior Ecologists will become involved in all areas of our work but the emphasis will be on dealing with protected species issues. You will manage a small team of ecologists undertaking extended Phase 1 and Phase 2 protected species surveys and assessments and will have worked on BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes. You are required to take on and manage individual contracts, to deliver high quality ecological consultancy services, within budget and to tight deadlines. This will involve professional communications with clients, other consultants and consultees, acquiring data from third parties, organising and supervising sub-contractors, preparing maps and writing and editing reports. You will contribute to the smooth running of our London office, in co-operation with other staff. All members of our team have a role to play in marketing and promoting the company.
The project-based nature of our work means that there will be a requirement to undertake such travel as is necessary to successfully carry out contracts. This may include overnight stays and, possibly, longer periods of working away from home.
Application deadline is 16 July.
