Daniel Robertson BSc MSc is an ecologist with 7 years’ experience in consultancy and a member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). He is a skilled project manager with experience of protected species survey and mitigation works, the Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) process, European Protected Species Mitigation (EPSM) licensing, and can understand the needs of clients.
In his role as Senior Ecologist for The Ecology Consultancy, the focus of his work has principally been producing Environmental Statement (ES) ecology chapters and authoring technical appendices, particularly for national infrastructure projects. Daniel also co-manages a dedicated team of up to 20 ecologists and project officers working toward the delivery of the ecology element for large infrastructure projects.
His other key strengths include client liaison, budget and programme management, understanding of biodiversity offsetting and application of no net loss/net gain calculations, devising habitat creation or enhancement plans to overcome potential biodiversity deficits, and critical review of protected species reports.
