Charlie Dwight BSc CEcol MCIEEM is a principal chartered ecologist with 13 years’ experience in ecological consultancy. She is a protected species specialist and holds survey licences for bats, great crested newts, water voles, dormouse and barn owls. She has designed, managed and led a number of high profile protected species surveys, obtained appropriate government licences where required, designs and implements appropriate cost effective mitigation strategies.

Charlie forms part of a water vole research team and develops new mitigation strategies for water voles, working in collaboration with Natural England and The University of Brighton. The team trial and implement new advanced mitigation techniques on suitable projects and publish the results in scientific journals. The research has benefited many of our clients by providing new innovative and cost effective mitigation solutions for water voles and developments.

Charlies’ focus whilst working with The Ecology Consultancy has been within the construction and infrastructure sectors in the South East. Her particular strength is client liaison with an ability to project manage a high turnover of diverse project types. She is responsible for project management and client liaison including attendance of meetings, budget and programme management, quality assurance and reviewing reports.
